Wow!
I'm one of these guys who use my Savage to drive to work all year round.
I leave her to sleep only if there's fresh snow on the ground.
I always use the choke when I start up in the morning.
I then drive for about 1 mile and push it back in.
OK, the next 10 miles are mainly downhill (400 metres in 12 Km)
so I don't strain the motor, but I have never had her stutter or anything.
On summer evenings (above 20 Centigrade) I don't use the choke.
Also no problems.
My coldest ever drive was at -13 deg. C and I followed the same procedure -
No probs.

I now have 17'500 KM (about 11'000 miles) on the clock and all's quiet on the western front.
Of course - regular services and oil changes.

I don't know if that's of any help. Perhaps
Bob
